Through careful analysis, we were able to determine that the brief could be fulfilled with a smaller footprint than originally thought. This allowed for a lower overall build cost, so more funds were left for higher quality internal finishes. The extension still increases the size of the existing kitchen by 50%, which is now ideal for hosting larger family gatherings and parties. Our service allowed the client to get on with their lives knowing the works were being managed by a trusted pair of hands.
Sustainability:
Windows and the large circular rooflights are all triple glazed to reduce heat loss, thereby reducing energy consumption. The new extension walls and roof are built using timber frame construction. Timber is a renewable resource and generates significantly lower carbon emissions than the concrete blocks typically used in side extensions.

A delicate, leafy shade of green paint defines the dining area while deep window ledges allow space for plants.
Windows on the side elevation allow daylight into the darker area of the plan, and help define a sitting and dining area. Large circular rooflights above are triple glazed.
Cherry wood cabinets bring warmth to the space and tie in with the client’s teak mid-century modern furniture.
